We are currently seeking candidates for the following position:

Engineering and Capital Project Manager
The Piedmont Triad Regional Water Authority (‘PTRWA’) is a wholesale drinking water supplier located in the northern most portion of Randolph County, North Carolina.  PTRWA is seeking a licensed professional engineer, with progressive design build construction experience to join our team as we begin expansion of the water treatment facility from its current capacity of 14.7 Million Gallons per Day (‘MGD’), to a production capacity of 26.7 MGD. The expansion project will also incorporate reverse osmosis treatment into the facility’s treatment strategy to address emerging contaminants. This will be the first inland surface water reverse osmosis plant in the State and will require the development of a close working relationship with North Carolina’s water and wastewater regulatory bodies.  This is an opportunity for a driven, experienced engineer to join our team as we begin this exciting project which will be transformative for our facility and the industry in developing strategies for emerging contaminant treatment.
 
PTRWA is seeking a self-motivated leader with excellent communication skills to join our team as our Engineering and Capital Project Manager.  This position will serve as PTRWA’s lead representative on the expansion and emerging contaminant project and the implementation of PTRWA’s long-term capital improvement planning.  Essential functions will include:

Requirements:
BS degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Construction Management or related field and a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience, including relevant design or construction administration and management experience in water and wastewater facilities and infrastructure.  Registration as a Professional Engineer in North Carolina is desirable.  Position is located at our administrative building in Randleman, NC.

Water Treatment Plant Operator

The Piedmont Triad Regional Water Authority is currently accepting applications for Water Treatment Plant Operators.  Employees in this position are responsible for participating in the operation and maintenance of a 14.7 MGD surface water treatment plant.  It is desired that employees have knowledge of the practices of water treatment and water purification analysis.  Knowledge of chemical tests applicable to water treatment, equipment maintenance, appropriate safety precautions, and mathematics applicable to plant operations is preferred. Must have understanding of the fundamentals of computer operation and written communication skills. Performs a variety of laboratory tests on water. Adjusts chemicals as necessary to maintain optimum plant performance.  Monitors a variety of equipment including water tank levels, periodic checks of equipment, including feed pumps, superpulsators, flash mixer, membranes, filters, pumps and distribution system.  Maintains facility, which includes general housekeeping and grounds maintenance. 
 
Completion of high school or GED required. Prefer candidates with at least a grade (C-SURFACE) certificate in water treatment or be willing/able to obtain within one year of employment.  Applicants without the proper certification may be considered for an Operator Trainee position.  Possession of a driver\\\'s license valid in the State of North Carolina required.  PTRWA offers an excellent benefit package including participation in the NC Local Government Employee Retirement system, employer 401K plan contribution, paid health, dental and life insurances, paid holidays, vacation and sick leave and bonus pay for achieving additional certification.  The salary for this position is based on experience and qualifications.  Please submit a completed application to Rebecca Brown, rbrown@ptrwa.org.
